Position Summary

The position has the responsibility for responding to Request-For-Information (RFI) or Requests-For-Proposal (RFP) from customers for our product line. Prepares/updates in collaboration with Product Line Management all needed sales materials (brochures, proposal texts, references). Prepares and coordinates product presentations and demos.

Primary Tasks

Directs the preparation of responses to Requests-For-Proposal (RFP) or Request-For-Information (RFI) from customers

Reviews sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.

Develops, edits and writes original proposal responses and other sales-related documents. Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of assigned industry structure and/or territory, applications, terminology, trends, and issues. Discovers and understands customer?s primary business goals, operations, challenges and requirements. Aligns and applies entire scope of Siemens products, solutions and services to meet the customer?s business goals. Validates and endorses the technical aspects of the solution offered in the bid.

Collaborates with Marketing and Product Management in creation/update of needed sales materials (brochures, proposal texts, references) and collection of requirement for future product releases.

Prepares and coordinates product presentations and demos.

This position will require travel.


Education

A bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis, or equivalent experience.

Job Related Experience

5 or more years of experience in field sales, three years of experience in power applications and large-scale integrated systems is preferred.

Technical Skills or Knowledge

Knowledge and understanding of electric utility operations, real-time computer systems that monitor and control the transmission and distribution of electricity, computer hardware and related peripherals, computer programming and software applications, operating systems, and power applications. Ability to work with customers with minimal technical support

Special Knowledge Or Skills - thorough knowledge of the sales and large proposal bid process, and a general understanding of the division?s products and the electric utility industry.

Other Qualifications Or Requirements - ability to perform multi-task functions in an environment of extreme time constraints, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work with a wide variety of customers (domestic and foreign) on the resolution of problems. Requires leadership characteristics evidenced by clear and concise communications (verbal and written), a positive attitude. Must be a self-starter.

A broad knowledge of electric utility markets and relationships, sales, division products, and competitor products is a plus.
