QA Technician (Metrology and Calibration) #06-080

JOB SUMMARY
Participate in a system whose purpose is to provide assurance that the overall quality control job is being done effectively. Sets-up and performs complex inspection, testing, gauging & measurement systems studies, SPC monitoring and related support activities which verify that component parts, new and current products are produced within engineering specifications and characteristics. Administers and operates gauging functions including calibration, gauging records, reports, and cost justification. Tests, calibrates, adjusts and maintains production gauging and gauging fixtures. May assist senior technicians, quality, design and manufacturing engineering in problem solving quality issues to improve the quality of products.

QUALIFICATIONS
" High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience in practices and procedures in machine shop, mechanical/optical assembly, and/or optical systems and components, gauging, and product inspection and testing, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
" Require good written and verbal communication skills.
" Needs working knowledge of computer software tools including SPC, business systems software and Excel for effective analysis, test, and report generation.
" ASQ Technician or Inspector training highly desirable. Certification preferred.

Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day Shift)
