QUALITY ENGINEERS and TECHNICIANS

 

ARC Technologies Inc. is the leading manufacturer of RF and EMI absorbing materials for defense and wireless applications worldwide.  We are a hands-on company, in a flexible environment, seeking an experienced Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer and a Quality Technician for our Quality Assurance Department.

 

QUALITY ENGINEER - to take responsibility for the development, documentation and improvement of manufacturing processes. Incumbent will provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and internal manufacturing cells as well as participate in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. You will also be responsible for assisting production personnel conduct in-process, receiving, and final inspection. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating product quality standards and assisting production personnel to ensure achievement of those standards.

n  A minimum of 5 years experience performing quality or engineering functions in a manufacturing environment.  A Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience is desirable.  Experience in Government contracts and standards, and ISO9000 experience a plus. A recent Security clearance is a plus. 

 

SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER - accountable for working with vendor supply base to ensure systems and processes are effective in producing and delivering parts and assemblies that meet quality, cost and schedule requirements.  Activities encompass qualifying and disqualifying suppliers, performing supplier audits, managing supplier corrective/preventive actions and managing supplier development initiatives.   Perform technical reviews and on-site audits to qualify suppliers.  This includes assessing whether a supplier has capability and infrastructure to produce the product. Perform periodic supplier performance audits.  Provide timely monitoring and reporting of supplier performance.  Support 1st article inspections, engineering evaluations and/or surveillance inspections as required. Perform validations and qualifications at supplier facility (including Sub-tier suppliers) to qualify critical processes and part manufacturing. Communicate product performance issues and/or supplier ratings to management and suppliers.  Initiate corrective and/or preventive action plans for suppliers.  Recommend disqualification of suppliers based on supplier performance and related issues. Provide recommendation for continuous improvement initiatives to meet improvement objectives for quality, cost, and scheduling. Adapt conventional techniques including statistical tools to solve complex problems.  Develop incoming inspection criteria for components and finished devices as required.

n  B.S. degree in Engineering discipline or a related technical field or equivalent experience. A minimum of four years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer and/or Quality Engineer.  Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, use of statistical techniques and quality tools and experience with conducting audits required. Experience in the commercial aerospace industry highly preferred. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is preferred.  CQA or CQE is desirable. Travel 25% to 50% of the job..

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN/INSPECTOR- tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties:  Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

n  A high school diploma and/or its equivalent of at least 2-5 years of related experience. A thorough knowledge of mechanical measuring devices and test equipment is required.  Previous experience in an ISO 9000 facility is also desired. 

 

All candidates MUST be able to obtain a Security clearance.
