QUALITY SUPPLIER AUDITOR

General Summary Under the direction of the Site Quality Manager and Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, performs supplier quality system audits for the purpose of determining supplier compliance to the applicable Tyco Healthcare, FDA and ISO requirements. The position supports the efforts of Quality, Purchasing, Engineering and R&D related to suppliers. These duties have a significant impact on product fitness for use, customer satisfaction and accomplishment of site cost reduction objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Evaluate supplier?s Quality System for compliance to the standards required by Tyco Healthcare using audits of supplier?s facilities or other appropriate measures.
2. Develops supplier audit schedule with input from the other site departments.
3. Recommend supplier changes based on evaluation results.
4. Act as an education facilitator for supplier use of six sigma tools to improve suppliers manufacturing Quality, process capability and cost reductions.
5. Conduct Supplier Quality System audits to assure compliance with domestic and international requirements.
6. Seek out and apply best quality assurance methods and practices in support of Quality objectives.
7. Provide backup support for the Receiving Inspection functions.
8. Establish supplier quality expectations and insure supplier performance to meet expectations.
9. Carry out other special assignments as directed by the Site Quality Manager.


Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
1. Minimum bachelors degree.
2. Professional certification as a Quality Auditor and/or Quality Engineer with two years of working experience.
3. Six Sigma Green Belt certification training and successful implementation of six sigma tools preferred.
4. Understanding of international standards and the FDA Quality System Regulation.
5. Knowledge of design of experiments and other advanced methods of product and process evaluation.
6. Must be a self-starter who can be effective working with general directions and minimum supervision.
7. Strong interpersonal skills for change agent and team building.
8. Strong written and verbal skills.
9. Ability to use computer systems to efficiently perform job duties.
