We currently have an opportunity for a qualified Quality Assurance Lab Technician at our facility in Mentor, OH.

This is a 3rd shift position.  The days and hours for this position are Mon -Sat (6 days) 11PM to 7AM.  (Normal schedule is five days week but the current schedule is six days per week due to production demands.)







Summary of Position:

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician is to carry out specific duties defined by the quality system that ensure the overall quality of raw, make and finished products.  In addition, it will be the technician?s responsibility to test and report results for new, existing and competitive products as per the requirements given to them.  The Lab Technician position requires interaction with Sales, Marketing, Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing, Distribution, Consumer Relations and specified Henkel Consumer Adhesives suppliers.

Essential Duties:

The essential duties of the Quality Assurance Lab Technician are:Support the company?s culture and business mission by promoting communication, building teamwork and always serving the customer (internal and external).Support the goals and objectives of the company.Perform new and competitive product testing.Interact and effectively communicate quality standards with Henkel Consumer Adhesives? suppliers, customers and all appropriate departments.Ensure incoming product and packaging quality by performing UPC verifications, visual/physical inspections and measurements to standards established by Henkel Consumer Adhesives or ASTM/PSTC.Maintain and backup all quality databases.Maintain quality information retained by WMS (quality statuses, audit frequency, etc.)Ensure supplier certificates of analysis are provided with every shipment per the established quality requirements.Provide technical data and product use to our internal customers. Maintain proper inventory of lab supplies and calibration of lab equipment.Monitor inventory of shelf life and act to disposition expired product.Issue corrective actions to suppliers and follow through with supplier for root cause and final CA closure.Periodically analyze crucial quality indicators by supplier, item and/or work center as identified by QA Manager.Report conflicting item master data with actual audited values (item dimensions, bar codes, etc.)Support QA Manager in continuing quality improvement projects.

Minimum Requirements:Associates degree in Quality Assurance or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of quality lab experience.  Knowledge of ASTM/PSTC test methods, and use of related lab equipment preferred.Strong interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and organizational ability including use of word processing, spreadsheets, and SPC databases.Basic math skills to include averages, percentages, standard deviations, metric conversions and interpretation of graphs.
