Quality Engineer - New Products

Job TITLE:  Quality Engineer ? New Products

 

Job SCOPE:

? Primary Quality Engineering contact person within the organization to provide support to Business Units during new product development & introduction processes, while ensuring new products meet internal and customer requirements

 

Job description:

? Early involvement in new product development activities to ensure quality and reliability requirements are designed into products and processes

? Participate in new product introduction teams as the Quality Engineering representative

? Develop quality and reliability plans for new products

? Identify & assess areas of risk to prioritize actions through the deployment of contingency plans, while interfacing with other internal functions (sales, design, manufacturing, engineering, reliability) to ensure adequate issue resolution

? Perform quality system audits of the overall new product development & introduction processes

Qualifications:

 

? Education:

  Degree in Engineering (preferably BSEE)

 

? Experience:

  5+ years of high-tech industry experience, preferably in a development & manufacturing environment (experience with Semiconductor industry is a PLUS). Experience with a phase/gate-driven process for new product introduction (for example: APQP) is a MUST

 

? Specific Knowledge:

  Familiarity with quality tools, such as: QFD, DFSS, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA (Design and Process), DOE. Proficient in risk assessment/management, ISO9000, Quality Auditing, Quality Costs and Problem Solving techniques (PDCA, Global 8D)

 

? Business Understanding:  MUST have strong presentation and project management skills, and ability to oversee several concurrent projects

 

? Other:

  ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification (CQE, CQA, SSBB) is a PLUS; must be able to communicate clearly with personnel at all levels within the organization; self-driven/motivated with minimum supervision required
