Quality Engineer (OEM/WAR)

ASMO North Carolina, Inc. a Japanese Company has exciting career opportunities for the following position.  As a worldwide leader in the manufacture of DC motors for the automotive industry, we are seeking team players to join our company in Statesville, NC.

 JOB SUMMARY:

To assure product quality to the customer and public in compliance with the Quality and Environmental Policies.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Responsible for maintaining good relations with customers/suppliers including good communications and transfer of information.

2.  Maintain routine customer/supplier visits as needed.

3.  Perform internal quality audits (i.e. ISO/TS 16949, Process State, PSO).

4.  Provides assistance for associates in areas of quality improvement, (i.e. SPC, measuring problem solving, etc.)

5.  Provides support for new product, new/revised drawings, design changes and quality exceptions such as deviations.

6.  Prepares data for ISIR/ISLR reports.

7.  Prepares customer documentation for new/changed products including but not limited to PPAP, PSO and Run-at-Rate documentation, etc.

8.  Responsible for the investigation of OEM defects and field warranty claims. 

9.  Effectively leads CFT for implementation of countermeasure.

10.  Completes and communicates necessary reports.

11.  Know and understand quality policies and procedures, and customer engineering standards.

 

SCOPE OF JOB:

1.  Responsible for investigation of quality problems and implementing recommended countermeasure.

2.  Responsible for customer/supplier documentation.

3.  Requires travel.

4.  Responsible for promotion of company activities such as ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14000, Employee Involvement, etc.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.  Requires a minimum 4-year degree and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment within the quality area.

2.  Must be able to communicate effectively with outside resources and all levels of internal resources in written and oral formats.

3.  Must have proficient math and analytical skills.

4.  Must have a proficient working knowledge of investigation techniques.

 

ADDITIONAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Understand your job responsibilities to perform, monitor and control the process as it affects Quality and Environmental Impacts.

2.  Follow all procedures and work instructions pertaining to your assignment and make recommendations to improve the process, as well as enhancements to the Environmental Management System.

3.  Notify Management immediately when problems or non-conformances are detected.

4.  Appropriately record problem or non-conformance to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken.

5.  Assist in the problem solving process, corrective action and prevention activities.

6.  Contain or stop the process as necessary to prevent non-conforming material from contaminating good material or negatively impacting the Environment.
