QUALITY SPECIALIST

The Metals group, located in Tucson, AZ is currently looking for an experienced Quality Specialist to hire on a direct basis. RESPONSIBILTIES

? Incumbent is responsible for the coordination and establishment of quality assurance policies and procedures for an engineering company involved with the design of process plants.  Will provide overall leadership and coordination of quality assurance activities for the company (e.g., covering proposals, projects and departments) to ensure achievement of objectives set forth in the Quality Polices.  Incumbent is responsible for the efficient administration of Aker Kvaerner Metals Inc., quality policies.  Carries out the function of Business Unit Representative as defined in recognized Quality System documents.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

? 4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.

? Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent

? 3-5 years practical relevant quality assurance experience

? Experience conducting audits

? Experience preparing procedures and facilitating training

? Familiar with Microsoft applications

 

PREFERRED:

*Background in minerals processing field.

 

PHYSICAL LABOR REQUIREMENTS (office, field work, climbing, heavy lifting):

Work is performed in an office setting; however lifting of items up to 30 lbs may be required with the course of work activities. Work is generally performed in an office setting, however occasionally an employee may be required to visit project areas. All variations of weather may be encountered during these visits.  An employee may be required to navigate uneven terrain and work around moving equipment. Must be able to conduct work safely and without incident in any environment. Must be able to perform the minimum requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
