R&D Packaging Engineer

Ensure technical rigor/robustness for assigned programs. ?
* Provide business risk perspective in addition to technical analysis and solution for assigned programs.
8 Interface with suppliers to lead development of new programs; developing new technologies and identifying productivity opportunities
* Lead commercialization efforts by conducting trails at suppliers and FLNA locations
* Propose new technologies or product ideas to expand base business or develop new product platforms
* Actively provide proposals for current and future development and productivity programs.
* Actively provide formal and informal input on ongoing programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for the development of OPP files that are used to package Frito Lay's products.

Will be reams with a Sr. Project engineer to deliver new metallized/barrier films and develop new technologies in support of new products (microwaveable films, extended shelf life technologies and productivity)

Key customers include R&D product development teams, Marketing, and Purchasing.
Must interact with R&D product teams to deliver packaging solutions appropriate for new products.

Interaction with Marketing will be centered around delivering new Point of Sale concepts and interactions with Purchasing will involve developing low cost alternatives to existing products.

Must have experience in Oriented Polypropylene manufacturing or converting.

Minimum of 3 years of experience with a BS in Chemical engineering

Preferred Requirements:
MS in Chemical engineering with 3 years experience in OPP film manufacturing; including development of high barrier films and in extrusion
