R&D Process Engineer- CVD/PVD

As a Process Development Engineer in Micron's FAB 4E R&D group.  This position will be located at our 300mm site in Manassas, Virignia.  Responsiblities will be to evaluate 300 mm equipment and processes for sub 65 nm devices in the Diff/CVD/PVD areas and process transfer to manufacturing Fab.  This individual will work closely with vendors to install and qual equipment, bring up sub 65 nm processes and modules, responsible for physical and electrical characterization, product evaluation and support transfer into production.  You will also develop new Diff/CVD/PVD processes and materials for 45 nm and beyond technology.  Work closely with vendors on new equipment and material roadmap and perform demo as needed, propose hardware modification to enable the new process and material development, evaluate the new processes and materials on product, and make recommendations for integration and manufacturing.  In addition to the above, you will support ongoing improvements for existing processes in Diff/CVD/PVD areas of 300 mm production Fab, offer technical support to 300 mm production team to improve manufacturability or other aspects of existing processes as needed and 300 mm production team members on the existing processes as needed.  Lastly, you will generate, properly document the work and report the work weekly, and disclose intellectual property to Micron Patent Department.



The qualified candidate will have experience with batch and single-wafer deposition and annealing, familiarity with semiconductor devices, experimental design and execution.  Semiconductor processing experience is preferred and experience with semiconductor device testing and analysis.  Prefer candidates with 2-4 years process development experience within semiconductor.



Education:
M.S. or Ph.D in Materials Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or similar field.
