RF Design Engineer

 

Job Description:

 

Palm is growing its smartphone systems design group and is seeking RF engineers to design and implement the next generation of products for the world-wide wireless market. This is a design and development position for an RF engineer with 2-5 years of experience. A suitable candidate shall have hands-on experience in designing RF systems and circuits from DC to 2 GHz covering at least PLL design and implementation, receiver design and implementation and power amplifier design considerations. Ability to quickly learn and apply new handsets technologies is required. Responsibilities

 

Handset Design

? Study chipsets and new technologies suitable for smartphone

? Research new components, vendors and technologies

? Design subsystems in GSM/ UMTS and CDMA smartphone

? Schematic capture

? Radio and system specification delivery

? Smartphone testing

? Collaborate with other hardware development engineers

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

? BSEE minimum, MSEE preferred

? Minimum 2 years of RF design experience for a wireless product

? Superior communication skills, both written and verbal

? Strong analytical skills

? Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout

 

Desired Experience

? Handset development for GSM/ UMTS and/ or CDMA

? WiFi radio design and integration

? Bluetooth design and integration
