Job Scope
The Sensors & Wireless Lab needs an RF MEMS Research Scientist?in our?Wireless group to engage in research, design, and development of next generation enabling sensing technologies and solutions. ?Qualified applicants will lead research, design, and development of key technologies to drive next generation Automation and Control Systems products in combustion, HVAC, environmental, health, safety, security, industrial, and automotive applications.? The position entails working with a team of technicians, engineers, and other scientists to create and execute research and development programs deploying various plasma, electrochemical, charge transfer, heat transfer, electromagnetic, photonic, and microfluidic principles to develop novel new enabling technologies and integrated sensing solutions.
The primary focus of this position is to define, win, and execute novel new technology development projects. Other responsibilities include customer and business segment interface, voice-of customer activities, requirements development, and project planning. This entails working closely with peers, business leaders, and internal and external collaborators to drive project success. Project leadership from initial concept, through development, test, prototype evaluation, and transfer to production phases will be required.

Basic Qualifications:
?
?PhD?in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Physics
?Minimum one year experience in RF MEMS research
?
Additional Qualifications:
1.? Strong self direction, communication, teaming, and project management skills
2.? Research experience in high Q component design and integrated electronics
3.? Solid foundation in design and fabrication of MEMS structures including material and process selection, simulation of micromechanical structures and hands-on fabrication experience
4.? Deep understanding of wireless circuit design and?ultra low power sensor design
5.? Sensor and wireless network applications and knowledge desired
