RF Test and Characterization Engineer / OPS951

Position Description: The RF Test Engineer will report into the Product and Test Engineering Department. The individual will work closely with design engineering to develop and implement the automated test capability for product characterization and testing.

This person will be responsible for the development of characterization electrical test methods for Linear Products at Skyworks Solutions, Woburn MA. He/She will develop Test programs and procedures using in-house facilities. He/She will be responsible for selecting test platforms and features required for testing, characterizing and analyzing the devices.

Qualifications:

This person will develop automated testing for IC and module designs involving both RF and digital I/O signals and controls. The candidate will assist in the transition of development phase characterization into the test capabilities required for volume production testing. Experience with RF and mixed signal module and RFIC testing in silicon/CMOS and/or GaAs technologies is required. Knowledge of ATE (Automated Test Equipment) and the use of test databases is desired. He/She should also be familiar with RFIC functionality, semiconductor device analysis and modeling, concepts related to modulation accuracy, and be able to work with the IC and module electrical design engineers. Must have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with the team members to establish and meet required development schedules.


Specific responsibilities include:
? Selection of ATE test platforms and test development.
? Development of automated test routines and data analysis tools for RF/mixed signal IC devices including the complex automation GUI's.
? Design of test sets using RF signal generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, RF power meters, and RF noise figure instruments. Load board and PCB design specification is desirable.
? Wafer probe testing and evaluation board testing of RFIC circuits and test blocks, including Probe card and interface design.
? De-embedding and linear / nonlinear circuit and device simulation experience is highly desirable.
? The position may require travel to off-site locations.
Job Requirements
? Education: Minimum BSEE, MSEE preferred
? Qualifications: 5-10 years experience in the development of RF test sets and automated test routines. Experience with RF and mixed signal test instrumentation and ATE. Experience with wafer probe stations for RF probing is a plus
? Skills: Working knowledge of commercial test automation control software tools like National Instruments Lab View, or equivalent as well as programming language knowledge in Visual Basic, Visual C++, C, and / or Matlab.
? Knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g and 802.16 requirements is highly desired.
