WORLD CLASS MANUFACTURING CHAMPION (EAST)

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The WCM initiative, part of the 7i program, involves implementing World Class Manufacturing across all sites. This exciting global initiative is key to the Group?s future. We are seeking a Regional WCM Champion to coach and mentor BPB board plants in their efforts to implement WCM at a rapid pace without compromising the quality of WCM standards. This role will provide such services to board plants within the Eastern Region of North America.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

? Provide leadership of the WCM program in the Eastern Region of North America to ensure WCM is implemented  at a rapid pace without compromising the quality of WCM Standards

? Provide support and advice to plant management teams to help them identify, analyze, and solve operational problems

? Share WCM best practice

? Coordinate, develop, review, and conduct training for employees in the WCM approach, tools, and techniques and ensure effective use of trainees at the local plant and corporate levels

? Play a lead role in conducting WCM business audits

? Collect, collate and analyze data to chart progress of plants within the specified region against the World Class Manufacturing plan, recommending countermeasures to overcome adverse variances. Provide follow up to such recommendations

? Ensure communications are fully deployed and answers to questions/points of clarification are answered in a timely manner to deliver the required understanding and commitment to WCM

? Track key performance indicators (KPI?s) relative to the WCM program across the region and report cumulative progress to the local Management Team and North American WCM Champion

? Identify continuous improvement opportunities to the overall strategic direction of the North American WCM program

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Participate in annual budget reviews to ensure proper alignment and deployment of WCM tools for maximum benefit to the plant and region overall

? Take an active role as a member of the Global WCM Working Group

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

? High qualification in a technical degree as the job includes specialist/technical skills. Equivalent training and experience of a technical nature may possibly substitute for a degree

? Solid experience in manufacturing, process engineering or technical project development, with a good understanding of plant organization

? Subject matter expertise in the various principles and practices of WCM

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

? Minimum 2-4 years prior experience in multi-plant responsibility in a support function strongly preferred

? Manufacturing leadership preferred

? Completed the WCM Instructors course strongly preferred (Internal Cadidates)

? 2-4 years prior experience with heavy travel (60-75%) strongly preferred
