Reliability Engineer

Adams Thermal Systems, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of engine cooling components for the agricultural, off-highway and automotive markets. Located just 15 minutes southeast of Sioux Falls, (population of 150,000) in Canton, SD, ATS is currently accepting resumes for a Reliability Engineer.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  Responsible for analysis of field failure data and components; monitors failure data generated by customer using product to ascertain potential requirement for product improvement; analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering program to achieve customer reliability objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

 Analyzes preliminary engineering-design concepts of major products. Recommends design or test methods for attaining customer-specified operational reliability using knowledge of reliability engineering and other technologies. Analyzes projected product utilization and calculates cumulative effect on final system reliability of individual part reliabilities. Drafts failure mode and effect analysis studies or formulates mathematical models using computer-aided engineering equipment to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design. Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations. Reviews engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements. Analyze field failures, maintain warranty records and conduct trend analysis. Specifies corrective actions based upon analysis and trend results. Prepares and Presents Data by developing computer databases; analyzing and interpretation of data; application of statistical techniques. Maintains Professional and Technical Knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Maintains Safe Environment by complying with ATS safety policies; identifying potential safety nonconformances; complying with housekeeping goals. Contributes to Team Effort by participation in Project Teams and accomplishing related results as needed.

 

Required Skills and Characteristics:

 Bachelor?s degree in Engineering/Science related field Minimum 3 years Automotive Engineering experience Proficient in reliability analysis including life testing, MTTF and multi-component systems. Experience with TS16949 quality management systems Interact with customers, suppliers, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner. Must be willing to travel, domestically and internationally as needed. Advanced computer aided analytical skills. Willingness to work ?flex? hours when required.
