Reliability Engineer-GOV

Job Description:
This is a Government Solutions, Inc. position on an Alternate Benefit Plan (no Pension). Sorry, interview travel expenses and relocation funds not available. Active TS/SSBI clearance is required to begin work.

Performs technical planning, system integrations, engineering design evaluations, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Perform review of developing contractor's designs for SBSS spacecraft and Ground systems equipment to ensure system reliability and analysis on a space control Ground Segment. Verify contractor's reliability prediction data for accuracy and to ensure it meets system specification requirements. Calculate system/system segment level reliability, availability and maintainability values. Develops initial planning of logistic elements that contribute to the maintainability and sustainability of military systems to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. Perform analysis and recommend alternatives to development and design. Provide recommendations to maximize SBSS system reliability and improve life-cycle cost. Ability to provide a wide variety of acquisition technical analyses, and program management support to a government customer. Have a working knowledge of system acquisitions, specifically in Air Force and DoD environments, covering the DoD 5000 series and National Security Space (NSS) 03-01 policies. Assist in the development and review of documents that include requirement, system specifications, monitoring techncials deliverables, and attending acquisition related meetings.

Education: B.S. in Engineering or related technical field.

Required Skills: Minimum of 5 years experience that includes the following: relevant experience in ground segments, space acquisition or operational experience, development of requirements, specifications; and proposals; familiar with a variety of acquisition concepts, phases, practices, and procedures, ability to perform a detailed logistic design evaluation, participate in technical studies, performance reviews, and risk management process; ability to function in a multi-contractor/customer environment, performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected; demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills; and effective written and oral communication skills required. Some travel is required.
