Research Engineer/Chemist ? Research and Engineering Division

(Req # 5-07-REC)

 

 

This position requires either a Master?s degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering or a Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry with a hydrocarbon or sulfur removal research background as well as 3+ years in industrial process research; high proficiency in designing and executing experimental programs for the purpose of solving technical problems.  Highly creative in identifying and acting on opportunities to create commercially important technologies.  Must possess experience in research applications in support of a chemical or refining operation in a technical support role and or experience in providing technical support of commercial technologies.  Knowledge of the process for development and implementation of the technology strategy for a business unit or company.  Effectively lead a key portion of multiple development projects.  Upside of growth into a research/technical management position.  Strong understanding of the chemistry or chemical engineering principles.  Must have high business ethics, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, practical, hands-on, strong communication skills, excels in a team environment, ability to travel 10-25%.

 

Experience working with external customers to solve problems or uncover technical needs; experience with sulfur removal technologies, redox chemistry, liquid-liquid extraction or catalysis; hydrocarbon or sulfur research background is strongly desired.  Ability to constructively challenge others; is results oriented, customer focused, lead without direct authority; and able to travel is essential for this position.
