Resident Engineer

Support of client needs

- Primary technical liaison to client for hardware and software module functionality

- Participate in regular design/development progress meetings

- Ensure required documentation required by the client is issued for submission/approval of the customer and in the proper format (i.e. PPSR, etc.),

- Obtain interface documentation for components that interface with modules or systems,

- Define, plan and manage prototype deliveries and traceability; manage usage of the prototypes by the customer in order to obtain all necessary performance feedback from the prototype builds/tests/fleets.

- Review installation of samples in vehicle application and provide report documenting any installation issues.

 

Support of internal needs

- Support the internal project team for necessary customer specifications and documents

- Be able to access client database or website for suppliers to view field quality metrics

- Ensure prototype testing report paperwork is submitted with each sample and manage delivery of samples to client.

- Provide client platform training on module operation for diagnostics and troubleshooting processes,

 

Technical Abilities

-  Ability to re-flashing modules based on software revisions, obtain and analyze bus logs for potential clues for functional issues

- Shall have working knowledge of embedded software development environment and familiarity with internal software development tools set.

- Shall have ability to integrate software modules and build s19 files for beta releases.

- Shall have the ability to support code debugging using background debugger at client sites.

- Ability to isolate hardware and software issues of electronic modules or systems at vehicle and customer bench level.

 

Educational/Experience requirements

- BSET, BSEE, or BSCE (Computer Engineering) required

- Microsoft Office Software suite familiarity (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

- Vehicle architecture and CAN bus Experience Required.

- Familiarity with the use of DaimlerChrysler's Diagnostics and Flash tools

- Completed courses in C, C++, Java, HTML, or Unix

- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills

- Electronic module development experiences a plus.

- Problem solving certifications a plus

- DaimlerChrysler experience highly preferred
