Rotor Systems Design Engineer

Rotor Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, analysis and processes for the development of rotorcraft rotor systems. The rotorcraft rotor system includes blade, blade retention and control system components for the main and tail rotor systems. Cutting edge design concepts and a broad array of metallic and composite materials are used to develop robust solutions suitable for the extreme loads and motions of the helicopter dynamic system. Rotor Systems Engineers are responsible for the conceptual through detailed design phases, and are integral in ground and flight test, production and aftermarket activities.


Candidates should posses a minimum of a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering and have a strong background in mechanical design and kinematics, as well familiarity with structural mechanics, or in machining and/or composite part fabrication.


An ability to understand complex mechanisms and to provide creative solutions is essential for advancing rotary wing technology to the next level.
