SAFETY ENGINEER

INEOS Olefins and Polymers USA includes the Polyethylene and Polypropylene plants located on Battleground Rd. in LaPorte, Texas.  Safety engineers provide technical and regulatory support to operations.  Safety engineers assist the site in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of BMC?s safety programs and achieving its strategic SHE objectives. 



 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing site-wide safety and health programs to achieve strong safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Developing/revising site HSSE Policies.

Assisting site personnel with risk assessments, compliance assurance and incident investigations

Assessing new technologies and practices to reduce the risk of injuries/illnesses, and evaluating trends and site performance on safety and health system elements to make recommendations for improvements.

Assisting in Contractor Safety Management efforts.

Participating and/or coordinating various H&S audits/assessments and action plan development.

  REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 3-5 years experience

Bachelor's degree in safety engineering or other engineering, technical or field

Experience developing and managing safety programs in a petrochemical manufacturing site

Strong regulatory background with 29CFR 1910 and 1926

Knowledgeable of computer applications
