SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

 

RESISTANCE WELDING MACHINERY

 

T. J. Snow Company, located in scenic Chattanooga, Tennessee, has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to design resistance welding machinery, automation and tooling. 

 

Resistance welding machinery & tooling experience is required.

 

Must be proficient with 3D modeling using PRO/E and/or INVENTOR. 

 

Must have a minimum of 10 years experience designing standard and special welding machines, production systems and automation.

 

At least 5 years in a PRO/E or Inventor environment is required.

 

Expertise with mechanical motions and pneumatic systems is required. 

 

Must be able to design machinery to meet the specifications of the growing number of Tier 1, 2 and 3 automotive suppliers located in the Southeast. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

? Communicate effectively with our Sales Engineers and customers during the machine concepting and design process. (Occasional travel may be required.)

? Produce 3D concept drawings in Pro-E or Inventor suitable for sales presentations.

? Produce complete drawing sets and bills of material for machine fabrication and assembly.

? Interact with machinists and assembly mechanics during the machine build and de-bug process.

? Interact with customers during the machine run-off prior to shipment.

? Document any modifications made to the machine.

? Work under tight customer-imposed deadlines.

? Be flexible when customers change specifications.

? Help as needed with machine start-ups in customers? plants.

? Work on multiple projects at the same time.

? Work reasonable overtime.
