SENIOR OFFICE ENGINEER - 5+ YEARS

PARSONS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS has an immediate opening for a Senior Office Engineer in our Washington Dulles International Airport office.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The successful candidate will report to a Resident Engineer and perform a broad cross section of complex technical and administrative activities relating to a major construction project.

SPECIFIC REPONSIBILITIES:

Undertake responsibility for all office activities that relate to management of a major construction project.

Utilizing an established file system and procedures, log and track incoming and outgoing correspondence, contractor submittals, and program payment requests.

Maintain contractor progress records, unit price pay quantity calculations, and time and material changed work documentation and calculations.

Perform contract specification and drawing research, draft letters for the Resident Engineer.

Other duties as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

A B.S. degree in Engineering or related field is required.

5+ years of construction related experience is required. At least two of the years must have been spent in significant administrative assignments involving independent decisions and comparative responsibility.

Additional Requirements

Evidence of good potential shown by satisfactory past performance and growth responsibility

Proficiency in applying construction engineering techniques and knowledge of codes, standards, and construction and engineering methods

Ability to coordinate, plan and organize work; to adapt to new situations, react objectively and expeditiously to critical construction and engineering problems

Effective oral and written communication skills

Ability to use computer database and spreadsheet programs for construction data administration purposes
