SW-Engineer III - WLAN Development (43448)

Description

Design and develop highly complex software drivers, utilities, and applications for a variety of embedded wireless platforms. Engineers will be responsible for the successful integration of WLAN radios into Symbol?s ruggedized handheld terminal product line. Ideal candidates will have strong embedded microprocessor design experience with x86 / RISC architectures and with Win32 and Windows CE. Definite requirements are C/C++ capabilities with Windows XP/CE development environments.

? Design and/or analyze complex components or systems Symbol?s wireless enabled devices.
? Design / Integrate Wireless TCP/IP based Layer 2 /3 solutions into Symbol?s handheld terminals.
? Implement application and user interface components
? Provide technical direction and innovative product solutions.
? Work effectively in a team environment.

 Required Skills

? Mastery of the C/C++ programming language, microprocessor development environments and debugging techniques.
? Demonstrable success in embedded processor software design on X86 and ARM architectures. Mobile embedded computer platform design experience preferred.
? Experience with protocol stack design.
? Experience with Windows XP and CE, WIN32 API, DLL?s, Visual Studio development, .NET framework and .NET Compact Framework
? Experience with networking protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, client/server.
? Experience with WLAN protocols (802.11, 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g)
? Experience with Internet protocol and document standards, such as XML, XML Schema, HTTP, HTTPS, and SOAP is highly desirable.
? Experience with network security protocols (WPA, EAP, PEAP, TLS, TTLS, CCX) is highly desirable.

 Required Experience

? Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. Master of Science preferred.
? Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in software design and analysis as applied to Embedded Software Development.
