SYSTEMS ENGINEER

This job provides technical support to day-to-day operations of Windows Operating System Servers; Citrix Server Environment; and Intel base servers. Has demonstrated ability to participate in the architect, design and implementation of Windows and Citrix based server environments, addressing current needs while anticipating growth and on-going support requirements. Will be expected to evaluate clients? current problems/needs and design and implement an appropriate scalable solution. Assists in the development and implementation of key processes, procedures and standards. Provide second level escalation support for issues and ensures closure and customer satisfaction.
.Work with staff, vendors and individual contributors, support the operational delivery of high level, consistent and responsive services on a 24/7 basis.
Technical contributor to the development/implementation of network standards, processes and procedures required to deliver high availability systems while insuring that they enable the attainment of strategic goals in support of service levels, responsiveness, cost effectiveness and standardization.
Ensure maximum system availability and performance via the design and implementation of automated monitoring, proactive maintenance, system and file optimization, upgrades, troubleshooting, and recovery procedures of Windows and Citrix based server systems.
Design and administer corporate Windows based System Policies, file systems partitions, disk resources, back-up and restore files, manage fault tolerance and recovery from system faults.
Configure Windows systems TCP/IP protocols, including Inter-networking and Intra-networking issues.
Use root cause analysis and knowledge of best practices to ensure high availability and minimize downtime. Work with team members in best practices for root cause analysis.
Design and administer corporate Windows and Citrix Based Server Systems environments including system standards and configuration, new hardware and software evaluation and implementation, hardware and software upgrades, systems monitoring, upgrade analysis, problem-solving, and licensing.
Maintain user profiles; apply Microsoft releases, windows updates and service packs.
Work during non-business hours required occasionally, but typically scheduled in advance.
Although there are no direct supervisory responsibilities at this time, some mentoring will occur with other members of team.

Detailed knowledge and experience with design, implementation, and support of Windows and Citrix based server operating systems.
SMTP, relay hosting and Internet messaging experience is required.
Must have Active Directory experience.
Knowledge of Citrix, CISCO routers and switches, SQL DBA, and POS is a plus.
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of issues inherent to Microsoft software including, but not limited to security, auditing and acquisition management; licensing and compliance; deployment and upgrading; features and functionality.
Thoroughly understand the TCP/IP protocol suite and experience in TCP/IP Name Resolution problem solving.
Experience with disaster recovery operations and procedures.
Adheres to and supports Change Management practices and procedures
Laser like focus on proactive planning and monitoring to prevent and minimize downtime.
Requires strong analytical ability, strong judgment and managerial skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, IT management and staffs, and vendors.
As this position will participate in the technical facets of projects, project management experience, strong analysis and troubleshooting skills are required.
Ability to manage the demands of multiple constituencies, define priorities, set appropriate expectations as well as strong organizational qualities in all aspects of work.
Computer related BS degree required
Must have 3-5 years of experience supporting Windows and Citrix based operating system servers in an Active Directory environment.
Must have previous experience working with multi-vendor solutions and managing outsource relationships.
