Implementation of scientific research projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plans and executes laboratory research. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and may contribute to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in development of patent applications. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
Responsible, along with several other scientists, for the general development of Cymer?s Laser Produced Plasma EUV Source technology. Initiates the design, development, execution and
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plasma generation using laser-produced-plasma techniques.
Design, setup, execution and evaluation of experiments to evaluate performance of EUV source prototypes.
Design of software used for evaluation of scientific experiments.
Design of ultrahigh vacuum systems and components.
Extensive communication and cooperation internally with other scientists/engineers responsible for EUV metrology and EUV collection technology;
External communications with other scientists involved in EUV technology as well as potential vendors and customers;
Participate in the development of frequent conference presentations and journal publications to assist in establishing Cymer as a scientific leader in the EUV field.
Selection and appropriate use of support equipment and lab facilities for rapid and successful EUV technology development.
Preparing/reviewing/presenting project plans, schedules and budgets
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
Independently investigates scientific and technical problems and challenges, evaluates and recommends solutions.
Leads research and development projects, interacts with customers, suppliers and piers, prepares and presents reports to management and customers, as well as at scientific conferences.
Participates in recruitment process on an intra- and inter-departmental level, evaluates technical knowledge and professional experience of candidates.
