Department Description: The security team in the Advanced Technology group of Connected Home Solutions business focusses on content protection, digital rights management (DRM) and security in general. The team develops a DRM solution for cable and IP delivery of content and its protection. The team also works with standards such as OMA and DLNA on DRM interoperability solutions.

Responsibilities/Expectations: Candidate will function in the role of software security architect and developer focusing on content protection, digital rights management, Internet security protocols, e-commerce, authentication, federated identity, secure web services, and similar technologies.
Candidate will use existing cryptographic toolkits to develop both client and server oriented applications of secret and public key cryptographic systems including AES, DES, RSA, ECC and other standard cryptographic algorithms.
Candidate will be responsible for requirements analysis, software architecture, application development, testing, debugging and documentation. This may include new applications as well as enhancement and sustaining of existing applications.
Candidate will research and use Internet protocols related to secure multimedia content delivery, user and device authentication and e-commerce in general.
Candidate will be responsible for working with the local as well as remote teams to collaborate on system specifications, development and integration for products or prototypes and demos.
Candidate may also attend standards meetings.

Knowledge Skills: BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a background in security and Internet protocols is highly desired.
Must have 5-10 years industry experience in software architectures, development and testing, including software documentation.
Requires some knowledge of current cryptographic techniques, including the fundamentals of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms (DES, AES, RSA, ECC, and Diffie Hellman), security protocols and standards (SSL/TLS, Kerberos, IPSec, and/or PKCS ).
Requires strong programming skills in C and C++. Experience with Microsoft platform development tools Visual Studio is a plus. Programming experience in Java is optional.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems is required.
Familiarity with Internet protocols for multimedia (e.g. HTTP, RTP, SDP, SAP, SIP) is highly desirable; knowledge of Web security, e-commerce, AAA, secure web services is a plus.
Software analysis and development technology, specifically OOAD is required and working knowledge of related tools such as Rational Rose is desirable.
Experience in OpenSSL, BSAFE, or other crypto software development toolkits is a plus. Knowledge of existing DRM and content protection technologies such as OMA DRM, DTCP, WMDRM is optional.
Knowledge of web security architectures, interfaces, protocols and best practices is desirable. In-depth protocol analysis and manipulation skills are a major plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory, as is the ability to function independently on assignments.
Must be able to work with individuals at all levels within and outside the department.^^
