Senior Applications Engineer

SUMMARYProvide formal design verification / validation testing of embedded HW / SW as part of the disciplined test methodology that is currently established in the DVT group.  Provide customer support for customer issues that are encountered in production-level releases.
RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyze product requirements towards design verification.Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for hardware releases.Provide customer debugging and trouble-shooting expertise.Assist in the debugging of prototype and production hardware and software as required.
SKILLS5-7 Years Computer SW/HW design for embedded real-time applications.Hands-on VxWorks or Linux development / debugging experience is required.Experience with embedded Linux development a strong plus.Ability to analyze both detailed and high-level hardware requirements and map them into test plans and test cases.Experience writing and executing detailed white box and/or black box test plans and test procedures.Proficient with fault isolation and defect tracking.Scripting language experience (i.e., PERL, BASH, Expect, etc.) a strong plus.Hands on CM tool administration experience. Telelogic Synergy CM preferred, or experience with an industry leading CM tool such as Clearcase, etc.Very familiar with the SEI software development lifecycle, or equivalent.Hands-on experience with 32-bit Motorola and/or Intel microprocessor based products. Experience with PowerPC single board computers is preferred.Experience directly interfacing with customers in product qualification and issue resolution is required.Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
EDUCATION
BS or MS in Computer Sciences or Electronic Engineering Preferred
