Senior Communication Systems Engineer

DIRECTV, the nation's leading digital multi-channel television service provider, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering group.

 

Responsibilities include RF system requirements definition and documentation, RF system hardware and software design

Integration plan development, documentation and enforcement. Oversight and evaluation of component and subsystem test. Development, documentation, coordination and execution of system tests. Subcontract management, coordination of site construction with RF integration, training of operations staff and on-going technical support on all operational systems. Travel to DIRECTV's uplink sites may be required as well as extended work hours.



Bachelor of Science degree with Electrical Engineering/Systems Engineering emphasis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Technical knowledge of RF components/systems and basic electrical and mechanical design principles. Also must be familiar with RF test equipment and test methods. Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, Word, Project).  Basic software design skills.  Previous programming classes or work in C, C++ or Linux. Regular, documented status reporting to DIRECTV project manager and project team. Systematic hardware and software troubleshooting skills. Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed.
