Job Description:

MWH is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Designer in our San Diego office

Candidate will develop working drawings from sketches (determines scales, layout, need for specific detail). Collects and verifies information and performs all necessary calculations with minimum supervision. Required to be able to model surfaces and construct / verify topographic features and structures tied into the topography. Be able to calculate areas and volumes from topographics and design surfaces. Familiarity with Land Desktop and an understanding of X-Ref/Model/Paper Space required.

Must be self-motivated and able to work individually or in-group settings.

Responsibility:
1. Responsible for the layout and coordination of entire sets of drawings.
2. Performs detailed shop drawing review. Perform earthworks and design work using LDD/AutoCAD
3. Work with engineers to verify completeness of design.
4. Complies with assigned project budget and time requirements schedule.
5. Coordinates work activities with other discipline designers.
6. Complies with company policies and procedures to ensure quality control.
7. Reproduce documents and assembling reports.
8. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company and health and safety guidelines and policies.


Qualifications:

Two year technical or Associate Degree in drafting or related area.

Minimum 4 years experience working on design of Water and Wastewater related facilities.

Requirements will include develop working drawings from sketches, verify info, perform calcs, model surfaces, read / construct / verify topo features and maps, cut/fill balances, regrade designs and structures tied into topography, working and seeing in 3D modeling, experience in manual drafting and sketching, ability to create graphic illustrations, understanding of X-Ref/Model/Paper Space. Good people and management skills a must.
Experience in ACAD, Land Desktop, Civil Design; including basic knowledge of Micro Station.

Background in civil engineering, geology, or mapping a plus.
