We welcome you to apply for the following position opportunity as a Senior Drafter and Senior Drafting Designer with the Boilers-(NAM) North America Business located in Windsor, Connecticut.
Areas of specialty include: Pressure Parts, Casing, Balance of Plant (BOP), External Piping, Ducts, Buckstays and Structural Steel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare in close association with the responsible design engineering department, work scope definition, design layout and detailed designs to satisfy requirements and conditions of assigned contracts, proposals or related tasks. Site scoping trips may be needed to confirm routing clearances and arrangements.
Establish design factors, standard practices or precedents, review standard reference sources to accomplish design intent. Perform design calculations in support of preparing contract or proposal drawings.
Prepare sketches, drawings and reference notes to support final contract or proposal drawings.
Provide advice and guidance to supporting drafters on preparation of arrangements, details and standard drawings to be used in the final contract drawings.
Prepare contract drawings in accordance with the specified departmental procedures using CAD computer software. Innovation and originality is needed. Must be proficient in AutoCad 2D and 3D software. Experience with PASCE and or PDMS preferred.
Review supplier and supporting drafting personnel drawings for conformance to customer specifications, approved practices, standards and applicable design governing that phase of work. Investigate non-conformances and recommend solutions.
Acting as lead person for assigned projects, attend meetings, visit job sites or manufacturing facilities, provide scheduling input, hour and material estimates, drawing/document control and other coordination to fulfill contract requirements.
Assemble, check, obtain approval and distribute contract drawings per task assignment details.
Interact with manufacturing facilities as directed by contract instructions to transmit drawings, requisitions or related material in fulfilling specified contract requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in engineering or related field or practical experience sufficiently applicable to the specified function.
Depending on level, 5 (entry level) to 15+ years of drafting and design experience or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
