Senior Electronic Engineer for Control Systems

Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES: Assume job captain role and lead a team of engineers and designers, to estimate, develop, plan and direct technically complex projects for Ride and Show Control Systems and Transportation Systems. Job captain responsibilities include managing budget and schedule for the engineering portion of a project. Perform and/or direct a team in performance of the following for control systems. Develop system engineering documentation including system requirements specifications, theory of operation, multi-discipline system analysis, failure modes & effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA) and simulation as required. Develop fabrication documentation including schematics/wiring diagrams, wire lists, control panel assemblies/details, interconnect diagrams and equipment installations. Provide fabrication and installation supervision, and test & adjust support. Develop and perform acceptance test procedures (ATP). Mentor other engineers to develop engineering skills, knowledge, and judgment. Take an active role in developing processes and establishing norms in performance. Interfaces with project management, contractors, vendors, operations and maintenance to coordinate implementation of designs. Apply standard engineering techniques and ensure that assigned designs are in compliance with appropriate technical and regulatory codes. Provide peer design reviews to ensure codes, standards and design requirements are met. Prepare and review equipment specifications, perform technical evaluation of vendor products and proposals and initiate required procurement requisitions. Assist in troubleshooting of existing control systems, including taking data measurements, doing engineering analysis and developing/implementing recommendations and solutions. Perform special tasks and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Equivalent from ABET certified curriculum

Seven to ten years experience in electrical/electronics engineering for industrial controls and automation

Experience with open and closed loop feedback control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), relay logic, electric motors (AC and DC) and motor controllers (variable frequency, DC, stepper and servo drives)

Experience in design, installation/testing support and sustaining engineering

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated leadership skills

Proficient in analysis software such as Matlab, SimluLink, MathCad, or equivalent

Knowledgeable of National Electrical Code and industry standards for the industrial and entertainment industry

Experience in safety critical systems and fail safe design concepts

Knowledgeable and skilled in using common computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, etc. (Microsoft Word, Excel)

Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in keeping technically proficient

Documented skills in use of engineering software - MUST be proficient in AutoCAD (recent version)

Ability to partner with others in a technical team environment

Self Starter requiring minimal supervision

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and assess problems in the field to develop and implement solutions

Very flexible with work schedule, including being able to work any days and hours for start-up and attraction downtime response

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EIT or PE

Knowledgeable in UL 508A, NFPA 79, ASTM F2291 standards

Experience in Ride and Show Control Systems

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
