Senior Embedded Software Engineer - (SB10089)

Position: Senior Embedded Software Engineer


Reports To: Engineering Manager


Status: Exempt


General Responsibilities:


Responsible for all phases of software development, including design, coding, integration, and debugging of embedded software projects. In addition has responsibility of project architecture, scheduling, team leadership, and technical relationships with other engineering departments, product management, customers and suppliers, must have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Maintaining schedules and cost objectives are primary responsibilities.


Specific Responsibilities:

Work as a team leader and/or individual contributor to design and develop cutting-edge products.
Assist with product definition and specifications
Conceptually design product and product line embedded software architecture
Take a leadership role in affecting the convergence of design approaches.
Programming in high level or assembly languages as required
Design and develop organized, easy to read and modify software code
Documentation of all phases of a project
Debugging using emulators, analyzers and similar tools
Coordinate and participate in design review meetings
Perform functionality and performance testing
Monitor and meet project schedules and cost objectives
Work closely with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, product managers, vendors and manufacturing to insure successful project coordination and integration.
May coordinate activities of several engineers on multiple projects
Perform technical research work for upcoming projects
Lead, develop and motivate junior engineering staff
Create and maintain status reports
Coordinate 3rd party development, technical liaison

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
7+ years software design for new product development
Proven analytical problem-solving ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
