Senior Engineeer, General Engineering

An opportunity to partake in a new challenging role as a permanent Design member of the Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. (SAC) Engineering Technical Support Team located at one of two Engineering Design Centers (EDC) in Lexington, KY. and W. Lafayette, IN. SAC typically utilizes the EDCs, operated by independent suppliers, for outsourcing of detail design activities, both commercial and military programs. The use of the Engineering Design Center is a growing business model at Sikorsky and the role of this position has direct impact on its success. The preferred candidate will be the Design member of a small on-site Sikorsky team. The team also has disciplines representing Electrical and Structural Analysis and is led by a Technical Manager. Roles and responsibilities include assisting the supplier in: the interpretation of technical data, use of SAC Standard Work and Best Practices, coordination of technical information exchange between Sikorsky and the Supplier and general technical oversight. Also, the candidate will assist the Supplier as SAC migrates to new systems. Design work is typically conducted using CATIA V4 or V5 and in accordance with SAC procedures.

Requires a Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering.

Requires a minimum of 7 years of well-rounded airframe design experience in preliminary and detail design combined. Proficiency in CATIA V4 is required; experience in CATIA V5 is highly desired. Working knowledge of assembly/detail geometric tolerance and dimensions is required. Past experience in a teaching or mentoring role is desired.

Excellent written and oral skills and personal computer literacy using Microsoft Office products are required.
