Senior Engineering Technician

Cynosure manufactures and distributes lasers and light sources for medical and aesthetic use. Our lasers are used for laser hair removal, non-ablative skin treatment, laser removal of veins, birthmarks, scars, acne, stretch marks, redness, pigmented lesions and tattoos. Our lasers also treat diseases such as psoriasis, laryngeal papillomas and dysplasia.

Senior Engineering Technician to provide technical support of Engineering in development

of medical laser products.  Performs complex technical assembly and testing tasks with

optical, electronic, and mechanical systems.

 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.  Assist engineers with the design, assembly, and testing of prototype laser systems and subsystems. 2.  Troubleshoot and analyze electrical systems with oscilloscopes, current monitoring equipment and DVMs

3.  Complete tasks using schematics, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.

4.  Perform the setup of test equipment and conduct tests on new laser systems.

5.  Develop new and/or improved fixturing for assembly and test.

6.  Fabricate and test prototype high energy power electronic circuits.

7.  Prepare  documentation for Engineering change orders.

8.  Analyze and summarize test results ? maintain a lab book

9.  Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor

10.  Laser system software validation and verification

 

Associate?s degree or equivalent, in electronics or laser technology prefered.

5+ years in electronics testing and troubleshooting to the component level.  Preferably, with

some experience in lasers and optics. Power electronics and PWM control experience also a

plus.

 

Independent worker with ability to take responsibility for completing complex tasks and

making recommendations for improvement. Flexible cooperative attitude and versatile

skill set is a must. Hands-on.
