Senior Manufacturing Engineer- Plastics

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing of America, a leading manufacturer of recreational vehicles located in Newnan, GA currently has an opening for a Senior Plastics Engineer.

 

JOB DUTY SUMMARY:

 

Senior engineering position within the Manufacturing Engineer Group supporting Plastics, including SMC press, water jet, bonding and foaming engineering duties. Responsible for all aspects of engineering analysis and design.  Provides leadership in the design and development of Engineering projects with minimal direct supervision.  Provides leadership in the shop floor support and Kaizen activities within the respective department.  Directs the activities of project teams and small group activities.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

? Performs process analysis and design.

? Applies formal design of experiment techniques.

? Works with minimal direction and supervision.

? Provides direction to other engineers as well as maintenance and Unit Technicians.

? Manages major capital projects and provides capital forecasts.

? Serve as active member of Manufacturing Engineering Team.

? Provides leadership to the Kaizen and process improvement activities with the production and maintenance personnel.

? Trains others in formal engineering problem solving techniques.

? Communicates to all appropriate levels/organizations within company.

? Professionally adheres to all company rules and policies.

? Implements and adheres to all ISO-9000 procedures and strive for simplification.

? Performs all other duties necessary to ensure business success.

? Ability to work in a dust present area.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 

? 4 year technical degree required. Degree may be waived for proven, demonstrated, specialized, technical expertise of 8 years or more.

? Minimum of 3-5 years experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, with progressively greater responsibilities. Previous experience in plastics, SMC press, Fanuc programming, high volume production.

? Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
