Senior Mechanica/Design Engineer

Today, Elmer's markets over 200 products from School Glues to Home Repair & Woodworking products. The range of products in the Elmer's line covers nearly every adhesive and home solution need of students, crafters, do-it-yourselfers and even the professional contractor. Products include All-Purpose Glues, School Glues, Glue Sticks, School Glue Gels, Crafting Glues, Creative Learning Tools, Wood Glues, Polyurethane Glues, Wood Fillers and a variety of Hardware/Do-It-Yourself products. Elmer's also markets the number one instant adhesive in the U.S., Krazy Glue.

Elmer's is currently searching for a Senior Mechanical/Design Engineer.


Key Position ResponsibilitiesJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing technical expertise and support for product design & development and qualification; such as Office products, Arts & Crafts devices, Hardware devices, and new categories.Must have project management experience and be skilled in developing new product design from concept to production.  Experience with qualifying and approving components from various relevant manufacturing processes is a definite plus. The candidate must be knowledgeable on current advancements in the design field and keep Elmer?s on the cutting edge of consumer products technology. Drive product improvements for existing products.Responsible for regulatory product compliance.Technical support for Operations, including cost savings, product evaluations, and quality assurance assistance.Participate in product development at various stages of the design process from concept to commercialization.Simultaneously manage multiple design and development projects; drive the product development process from concept to production.Work closely with cross and multi-functional development teams to achieve premium quality and expedient product results.Provide product development support for international operations.
 



Education/Experience & SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related field 8+ years related design experience in the consumer products, food or pharmaceutical industry. Proficient with Microsoft Office.  Strong business system skills in the areas of or related to Pro-E, CAPE, AutoCAD, and SAP.Must have a proven track record of successful consumer new product introductions.  Consumer products experience essential; office products and arts and crafts experience a strong plus. Must possess interpersonal skills required to work effectively across multiple functions within the organization A creative thinker with a process and design orientation. Project Management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.  Ability to think creatively, & technically.
