Senior Mechanical Engineer ? Supporting major business growth


MicroOptical?s portable viewers connect to ordinary electronic devices and create full size virtual images through proprietary technology. Comfortable and compact, the myvu? personal media viewer allows for hands free and private viewing when connected to Apple iPod? with video, video-enabled cell phone or portable DVD players to watch music videos, movies, podcasts and other broadcasted or downloaded entertainment.

This position involves product development, transfer to manufacturing, vendor interface and manufacturing support of advanced head mounted display (HMD) systems. The candidate will work in a diverse, multi-disciplinary group in a team-based environment. The successful candidate will do the mechanical design of HMD Systems and enclosures for their support electronics. They will also design fixturing and jigs used in the manufacturing of HMD Systems. The candidate will be required to use ProEngineeer for all mechanical design work. They will oversee, and participate in the assembly and testing of the mechanical systems they design.

Essential Job Functions:

? Mechanical design of MHD Systems.

? Documentation and release to manufacturing

? Vendor selection and interface.

? Assemble and test mechanical systems.

? Assemble and test mechanical systems.

? Assist with documentation control.

? Mentor junior ME staff.

? Develop and manage project schedules and budgets.


Qualifications:

? Must have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. MSME desirable.

? A minimum of 10 years experience is required.

? Must have experience in the design of high volume products.

? Must have experience with ProEngineer, surfacing experience a plus.

?  Experience developing medical devices is desirable.
