Senior Mechanical / Structural Design Engineer

A manufacturing leader in the material handling industry seeks a motivated Senior Mechanical/Structural Design Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience in the design of industrial machinery and equipment.  Experience in mobile or overhead crane industry or engineering experience in industrial equipment, such as off road mining equipment, heavy construction equipment, etc. is required

 

The successful candidate will have minimum qualifications as follows:

 

? BS in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience

? Professional Engineering registration highly preferred

? Excellent 2D AutoCAD drafting skills, 3D Mechanical Desktop or Solid Works, a plus.

? Innovative self-starter, able to work with a minimum of supervision.

? Create layouts, details, and bills of materials for manufacturing.

? Responsible for structural & mechanical engineering design of heavy machinery.

? Project management duties include interface with drafters, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, and customers.

? Prior experience with heavy machinery cranes, hoists, structural weldments, and mechanical drive trains a plus.

? Must be able to perform manual and computer aided engineering design calculations.
