vision equipment supplied to US Special Operations Forces. An expansion of business
makes an outstanding opportunity for a SENIOR OPTICAL DESIGN ENGINEER available.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The SENIOR OPTICAL DESIGN ENGINEER will:
? Interface with customers as needed on specifications, applications and installations
? Write specifications, test procedures, manuals, assembly and validation planning and other written documentation
? Interface with suppliers of optical components and subsystems
? Interface with key subcontract manufacturers of optical assemblies and installations
? Perform optical design, builds and tests of optical systems and subsystems
? Participate in research and development including g feasibility studies and testing of optical design concepts and prototypes
? Assemble, align and diagnose complex optical systems
? Troubleshoot design and manufacturing problems
? Support multiple projects and other departments (production, sales and marketing, customer service) as needed.
? Make presentations to management and customers as required
QUALIFICATIONS
The SENIOR OPTICAL DESIGN ENGINEER will have:
? BS in Optics, Physics, Electronics or Mathematics. MS preferred
? 5+ years applicable optical design experience
? Experience with Zemax (preferred) or equivalent optical design software
? Solid understanding of optical mounting and assembly practice
? Familiarity with visible and Infrared wavelengths
? Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, or similar quality systems
? Knowledge of US military standards
? Computer literacy and capable of using MS Office
? Good oral and written communication skills
? Independent and team centered skills
