Senior Optical/Electro-Optical Engineer

The Senior Optical/Electro-Optical Engineer will participate in the design and development of Optical, Opto-Mechanical, and Electro-Optical systems for visible, thermal infrared, and UV systems as well as non-imaging and illumination optics.  Includes:lens design, imaging sensor selection, system performance modeling, imaging displays, and module/component testing in support of a variety of program deliverables ranging from prototype hardware to full production articles, also opportunity to manage programs.  Occasional travel may be required.  Further requirements:  BS/MS degree in optics or equivalent of a min 3 yrs relevant work experience. Fluent with Zemax, CODE V, or similar lens design software, MTF stations, optical inspection devices is required.  Ability to conceptualize and define architectures, design, develop, and document prototype efforts and support projects through the manufacturing process.  Interface with customers and suppliers in technical areas relating to project.  Experience with imaging sensor performance modeling is preferred for DSD office (NVESD SSCAM Oct 2002, IICCD Oct 2002)  Experience in full system modeling, image processing and utilizing tools such as MathCad, MatLab is preferred.  US Citizenship required.
