Job Description:
Responsible for direction and supervision of a large professional or technical groups. Oversee large Advanced Planning and PS&E Sections. Department revenue usually is in excess of $1.5 million per year. Coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the best design capabilities to meet their needs. Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and maintenance of design engineering programs and efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing high-quality service. Serves as primary client contact for multiple projects in excess of $2,500,000 of construction costs. Has full management responsiblity for all aspects of the project including negotiating extras, cost control, staffing and quality control. Expertise in advanced transporation planning.

+ Coordinate activities of engineering department or section.
+ Assign priorities and staff to jobs.
+ Coordinate time and budget on jobs.
+ Client contact.
+ Quality control.
+ Secure profitable new work.
+ Estimate fees, determine scope of work, prepare proposals and contracts on large or multiple projects.
+ Actively manage client's budget, schedule and project; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation.




Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 12 years of experience. TxDOT experience preferred.
