Job Description : Engineer is responsible for designing and fabricating new single emitter and bar packages with associated tooling for laser diodes. He/she is responsible for recipe creation on the packaging equipment and undertaking yield improvement activities. Processes will be sustained and characterized using SPC and DOE methodologies.

Qualifications:

? B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

? Basic understanding of photonics and physics/technology of laser diodes

? 7+ years experience in laser diode manufacturing

? 5+ years experience designing packages for the photonics industry

? Has used CAD and Engineering drawing tools. SolidWorks expertise preferable

? Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis

? Able to use and interpret SEM, C-SAM and other analytical tool data

? Good verbal/written communications skills

? Able to use Project Management tools and work cross-functionally to implement programs with minimal supervision
