Job Summary:
A Research Senior Product Engineer employs a broad knowledge of engineering Principals, practices and procedures to plan, design and or improved products or processes. They develop unique solutions to customer problems. They also invent patentable solutions to problems and opportunities, which enhance the company?s position in our target markets. Senior Product Engineers conduct research and present the findings and carry out novel or complex assignments requiring the development of new and unique solutions to complex problems. This individual is experienced in our industry and has a proven record of developing innovative solutions. Is able to plan and execute projects independently as a project team leader. Conducts research in a field or specialization of an engineering discipline to discover facts, or performs research directed toward investigation, evaluation, and application of known engineering theories and Principals.

Responsibilities to Include:
?Plans and conducts, or directs engineering personnel performing, complex engineering experiments to identify, test, prove, or modify engineering propositions to aid in the development of new and unique products and processes.
?Evaluates findings to develop new concepts, products, equipment, or processes to problems raised by internal or external customers where there are no existing solutions, which meet the problem specification; or to develop applications of findings to new uses.
?Leads multiple projects as project manager/leader; focused on the projects? technical and cross-functional aspects.
?Provides supervision (mentors) of entry-level engineers.
?Plans and manages cross-functional project teams focusing on all required activities.
?Assists in the formulation of overall departmental objectives, policies, plans and programs.
?Prepares technical reports for use by engineering or management personnel for long- and short-range planning or for use by sales engineering personnel in sales or technical services activities.
?Act as a leading technology resource for others in the technology and applications group.
?May use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.
?Applies diversified knowledge of engineering research Principals, practices and protocols in the identification of novel solutions.
?Assist in the formulation of overall objectives, policies, plans and programs and provides technical and specialized functional services and recommendations for carrying them out.
?Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts new products, processes and equipment to meet specifications.
?Manages multiple or complex projects which may require the use of sophisticated project planning techniques.
?Invents patentable products and processes that fit the company?s strategic plan.

Education:
?Bachelor of Science in appropriate engineering discipline (BSME preferred).

Position Requirements:
?Six (6) or more years of R&D experience.
?Experience in a matrix environment.
?Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal and external clients.
?Ability to perform effectively within budgetary guidelines.
?Knowledge of current technological developments and trends
?Ability to utilize advanced analytical techniques and programs to develop scientific models.
?Proven creative problem solving ability shown by the issuance of patents.
?Ability to use independent judgement to adapt, modify and invent concepts and approaches to specific projects.
?Decisive and confident, open and candidate with the ability to energize others.
?Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment.
?Able to build strong and dependable teams.
?Possesses excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
