Senior Product Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
Schneider Electric is a market-leading supplier of electrical distribution, industrial control, and automation products, systems, and services. Square D is the flagship brand of the North American Division, one of four geographic divisions of Schneider Electric, headquartered in Paris, France.


This position is for a Product Specialist that is responsible for Ethernet and web server products to support the Transparent Ready global initiative. This position is accountable for all phases of product planning from concept to obsolescence. The candidate for this position must have an understanding of customer needs, market trends, competitive offers, as well as the ability to coordinate with other product activities within Schneider Electric. This position must work closely with engineering to ensure customer needs are met, lead product launch activities, and provide global product forecasting to manufacturing.


This position assists in attaining and maintaining revenue goals and contribution margin objectives for assigned products. Develops literature for new products and updates literature for existing products. This position also, provides technical training to sales, application engineering, and technical support teams for assigned products.


Sr. Product Specialist candidate requirements: 1.) Five (5) years of hands on experience/fundamental knowledge of Ethernet networking, serial communications, and web server technology.


2.) Understanding of power monitoring and/or automation systems and products.


3.) Experience with embedded system product development.


4.) Ambitious and eager to understand customer's needs and apply that understanding to product development.


5.) Strong communication skills in written and presentation form.


6.) Capable of interfacing with global engineering teams during product development and when resolving issues.


7.) Basic knowledge and experience with: a. Microsoft office, especially Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel b. CAD software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio) c. Web page development d. Requirements management tools 8.) Prior experience interfacing with power monitoring or automation customers (internal and external) via: a. System start-up (hands on applications) b. Technical support issues/comments


9.) Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar technical degree.


Qualifications that are considered to be a plus include: 1.) Experience with system integrators. 2.) Experience with PowerLogic and/or ION products. 3.) Experience/knowledge of product development processes. 4.) Experience/knowledge of products from Schneider Electric (Merlin Gerin, Square D, Telemecanique). PLC applications
