Senior Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:

 

? Lead quality engineering activities that focus on the prevention of defects within the manufacturing process.

? Identify and create process procedures, work with suppliers, and use a variety of quality tools such as performing internal quality system audits, conducting supplier surveys, reviewing in-process controls methods, requesting corrective actions, issuing scorecards, participating in Process and Design FMEAs, and implementing other communications that focus on the prevention of defects.

? Create where necessary, assembly documentation and workmanship specifications to insure the prevention of defects within a capital equipment manufacturing process.

? Perform internal quality system audits

? Investigate manufacturing problems to root cause and recommend corrective actions to prevent further occurrences

? Establish incoming inspection levels and criteria based upon supplier performance levels

? Assist in the documentation process to ensure specifications and criteria are clearly understood by all parties

? Report metrics on the performance of the quality system and take corrective actions to reduce areas of findings

? Perform training on workmanship specifications and quality system processes

? Support the creation and implementation of an ISO900:2000 compliant quality system.

 

Experience Desired:

? 5-7 years experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment preferably within a Quality function

? Bachelors degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.

? ISO9000:2000 experience, especially in the areas of internal auditing and implementation

? Excellent analytical skills.

? Good track record of leading quality strategies or initiatives and achieving desired results

? Working experience of modern quality and manufacturing techniques, including; 6 sigma, Lean, Taguchi, SPC

? Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access

? Excellent program/project management skills

? Excellent communication and presentation skills
