Senior Software Engineer, Network Control

Akamai is looking for experienced engineers to help further enhance Akamai's state-of-the-art fault management systems. The industry leading technology monitors the status of over 15,000 servers and detects, notifies, diagnoses, and helps resolve software, hardware, and service issues. This allows our network operations groups to run the network efficiently and effectively.

We need highly motivated developers to work on major additions and improvements to the various web applications, desktop applications, and server software that comprise Akamai"&tm;s fault management systems. This includes significant new development on all systems "" monitoring, detection, notification, diagnosis, and automation.

Required Skills:
* BS in Computer Science or related field
* Experience with Java and Perl in Linux/Unix environments
* Experience with SQL & database management
* Experience with web development (AJAX a plus)
* Experience with the following a plus: JFC/Swing, C, C++, Python, Ruby
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills
* Solid grasp of software development lifecycle
* 3-5 years of extensive programming experience
