Become a key member of the Akamai Storage & Streaming Media Development team. You will be tasked with developing and maintaining a high-performance, secure, robust platform on top of Microsoft Windows 2003 Operating System base that supports existing and emerging Akamai applications. As a member of this team, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining software to remotely deploy Windows 2003 platform, patches, service packs, and toolkits
* Developing and maintaining security protection and monitoring mechanisms
* Assessing security vulnerabilities and exploitation codes. Evaluation of available patches/fixes to address these vulnerabilities.
* Performance tuning of the Windows 2003 platform for various Akamai applications

Required Skills:
* MS Computer Science or equivalent
* 5 years experience in system-level software development on Windows NT, Windows 2000 and/or Windows 2003
* Experience working in mixed Windows/Linux development environments, such as cygwin
* Experience with Windows system performance monitoring and toolkits
* Solid knowledge of Perl programming
* Experience working within a mature software development lifecycle
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Confidence to participate and contribute within a fast-paced, highly skilled and collegial development team
* Flexibility to undertake new and complex challenges at a moments notice
