Senior System Architect: Multimedia SoC (IC) Lead Architect Title Senior Systems Architect with the specific role of Lead Architect for Multimedia SoC?s (IC?s) Group Freescale Semiconductor Ltd., Wireless Mobile Systems Group, Multimedia Applications Division, Systems & Architecture. Introduction This position, based in Austin Texas, USA, is for a Senior Systems Architect to cover the Architecture (System) Specification of a Multimedia Centric SoC (IC). This position would involve working in the Multimedia Systems and Architecture team. A team tasked with the creation of  Multimedia enabled Wireless Cellular Phone Chips and Multimedia enabled consumer devices.This person should be capable of completing an overall SoC system specification by working with and leading a team of sub-system level architects that would contribute to this overall SoC architecture (system) specification. Sub-systems could include video and/or audio and/or security and/or general purpose processing devices as per the required set of multimedia features. Detail This person has the primary responsibility for creating an architecture (system) specification for an entire SoC. Specific responsibilities would include ? SoC HW Architecture Specification : Working with marketing and customers, translate a product requirements specifications/multimedia use-case specification into an architectural specification document. Lead and contribute towards a small architecture team to complete and review this architecture specification document. Transfer this architecture specification document to a design team, and then work closely with this design team to ensure an accurate hardware implementation of the architecture, and appropriate verification of that architecture. ? SoC System Performance Analysis: Through simulation, modelling and mathematical/algorithm analysis, investigate tradeoffs in performance, power consumption, bus-bandwidth, flexibility and die size to meet the specified multimedia requirements, within a die-size/cost budget. Key Skills ? Experience in two or more of the following areas is considered essential for this senior position: ? Low Power SoC System Design/Architecture (such as clock gating, frequenct scaling, leakage reduction) ? Experience in the backend design and verification of a complex SoC (and/or design lead for an SoC project) ? Low cost SoC System Design/Architecture (efficient HW implementation of architectures/algorithms) ? SoC System Performance Analysis/Modeling (bus traffic analysis, statistical modeling, module input/output) ? Platform (multiple SoC) architecture definition, inter-connectivity, component costing, and packaging ? System security and DRM or SoC System Software Architecture ? Video centric, Audio centric, Consumer Multimedia Centric, or Wireless Multimedia Centric SoC System/Design specification
