Senior Systems Test Engineer

We have an immediate career opportunity for a Sr. Systems Test Engineer. This is a challenging role in which you will have the opportunity to develop your analytical capabilities and demonstrate your ingenuity while you work with some of the most advanced technology in the satellite industry. Your key role will be to support satellite electronics integration and test across Direct Broadcast Satellite programs in testing data review, procedure review, requirements assessment, and anomaly resolution. You will utilize knowledge of the data handling, attitude control, power, and other spacecraft subsystems to lead troubleshooting of test anomalies and execute engineering changes as of results of investigations. You will also assist in generating test requirements, test plans, and test procedures as they relate to spacecraft electronics, identify technical issues related to testing, participate in corrective action, and prepare technical reports summarizing work performed and results. You will participate in Systems Engineering and Assembly, Integration and Test design and planning activities, interact with the Spacecraft Manager and Vehicle Engineer, and investigate spacecraft non-conformance between programs and departments for common issues. In addition, you will review and utilize electrical schematics, wire lists and databases in support of daily activities, and generate telemetry calibration coefficients in support of program specific testing. You will promptly respond to issues if they arise and follow documented processes in daily activities, perform thorough data assessment, demonstrate follow-through on issues, and maintain open channels of communication between programs and departments for common issues. You will train others and serve as a technical resource for System Test Engineering related functions, identify process deficiencies and recommend possible ways of eliminating those deficiencies, and maintain and evolve the process documentation and Excel tools to include additional detail and new requirements.

 

Minimum Requirements: B.S. degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or the equivalent, plus five years related work experience with a B.S. degree; three years related work experience with a Master's degree. Good knowledge of engineering or related field sufficient to define, analyze and resolve engineering problems. Knowledge in use of Microsoft Office, ORCAD Schematic Capture, and familiarity with DOORS requirements tracking is desirable.
