Senior Technical Lead Engineer

WMS Gaming, leading manufacturer of gaming machines, was formed in 1974 and achieved great success in the pinball, video arcade and home video game markets. Job Summary
Manage define and design systems and hardware for use in gaming devices.

Qualifications Required
Experience
10+ years in an embedded product development environment.




Skills and Abilities
Successful track record as technical lead of development engineering project team.
Experience working with and leading multiple disciplines in addition to outside resources.
Ability to seek out and develop project requirements.
Must be competent with electronics tools, including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and schematic capture packages.
Ability to work independently and follow directions.
Working knowledge of general computer software and tools.
Good written and verbal communication skills.


Optional Qualifications:
Gaming industry experience.
FPGA design, logic simulation and logic synthesis.



Responsibilities
Apply sound diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assignments.
Make independent decisions and lead team decisions on research problems, technology investigations and new or improved product development.
Suggest and lead the implementations of innovations, design improvements and cost reductions for existing products.
Complete assignments within approved project budget and schedule parameters. Complete necessary documentation and reports.
Provide leadership, direction, and training to team members participating in project activities. Assist other people in the organization to understand his/her work so as to assure overall success of the organization.
Must have an overall grasp of the projects so that he/she can follow through and coordinate tasks and keep all details in their proper perspective.
Interface with other departments including program management, software developers, etc.
Maintain a research journal and other proper documentation to substantiate patent applications.
Provide assistance to the Electrical Engineering manager and make recommendations on staffing budgeting, instrumentation and facility requirements.
